Eleven weeks remain for clubs to accomplish Distinguished Club Program (DCP) goals for
the 2011-12 year. During the business portion of the meeting, the Club
President or Vice President Education should review the Club DCP status.
Congratulate the club officers and members on the club’s DCP accomplishments
and review outstanding action items to ensure that the club remains on track to
be a distinguished club by June 30th.
In District
25, according to Toastmasters International, five clubs are President’s
Distinguished Clubs, eight clubs are Select distinguished Clubs, and four clubs
are Distinguished Clubs. Fifty-one clubs in the district have accomplished five to
nine goals, but these clubs have not met the membership requirements to gain
the distinguished status. According to the membership requirements, the club
must be at charter strength (20 or more members) or the club must have a net
gain of five members if the club was not at charter strength on July 01, 2011.
These clubs need to focus on membership building. Some ideas to attract guests
and members include:
· Hold a club membership building contest.· Organize a Bring-Your-Boss night.· Organize a Bring-A-Friend night.· Post meeting fliers at place of employment, public libraries, churches, recreation centers, grocery stores, etc.· Publicize your club in company newsletter or employee communication.· Ask your Human Resource department to include your club information in new employee orientation sessions.· Include your club in local newspaper business agendas.· Ask for district help.

congratulations. Job well done. If your club is not presently a distinguished
club, there are 11 weeks left for you to review where you are at the present
time and review what must be done over the next few weeks to become
distinguished. Even if you think that your goal is out of reach, keep the goal
in sight and believe that you can achieve it. It is doable. Go for it! Be distinguished.
