I never thought I would add “Internationally Acclaimed
Speaker” to my list of achievements. It certainly wasn’t something I set out to
do. All I really wanted to do was see my daughter and her family. You see, they
live in Denmark and I went there on vacation.
My daughter also happens to be a member of the Esbjerg
Toastmasters club and invited me to attend their club meeting while I was
visiting. I was delighted to attend and even more delighted to give a speech
and do an evaluation for their club.
I chose the topic of “Freedom” for my speech, and it
could not have been better. The club members come from many countries. Among
those represented were Iran, Italy, Poland, Greece, Spain, Denmark and the United
States.
My daughter Shanda is the Sergeant at Arms and was the
Toastmaster for the meeting. I can’t wait until the next trip and the next
opportunity to enjoy the fellowship and camaraderie of this remarkable club.
