Cooke County Area Toasters Celebrate Charter

Cooke County Area Toasters celebrated their official Charter Celebration on September 26, 2011 at the Gainesville Civic Center with distinguished speakers, members and guests.

The speeches for the evening were "What's in It for You?" by Diana Patton, District 25 Governor, and "How Leaders are Made" by David Martin, Past District 25 Governor.

Patton and Martin presented the Charter Certificate and the club's new banner to President Orland Woodard. We were the second club in the District to receive the new banner since the rebranding. The club also received a lectern.

Orland Woodard and Julie Phillips, with assistance from former Toastmaster Sue Newhouse, contacted Toastmasters International about forming a new club in the Gainesville area, and District 25 immediately responded. Club sponsors were Orland Woodard and Lindsay Dillard. Club mentors were Cindy Hinckley and Audette Kincaid. Amelinda Salas, Area 51 Governor, inducted club officers.

Cooke County Area Toasters is grateful to its officers and members and these District 25 members for their perseverance and dedication in gaining a club charter for the Gainesville and area communities.
